I decided at some point that I wasn’t going to allow myself to be pushed around by any boss.
I decided I was going to be my own boss. So what did I do? I started my own massage clinic, and I loved it. Yes, I built up a successful remedial massage clinic from scratch and became my own Boss and wasn’t answering to anybody. My clinic was located in my house which I thought was ideal. Sounds great, right? But, I soon got to the realization that I was still geographically very limited. I had to be physically present in my clinic to work. No massage because of a school item to attend (and yes I want to go and see my child in a moment that is important to them), well no money either. Not being there would mean no income, that’s a simple math equation right? And with 3 kids and their busy schedules I found myself trapped in a rather stressful job.
Clearly, I had to make some changes.
Therefore, I took the time to really think about my situation, my family, our needs, etc and what I could potentially be doing that would be ideal for all of us now but also in the future.
I decided that internet was going to be my solution. You see, Internet just offers so much potential and the multiple streams of income an online business makes possible are just incredible if you look at it from a “basic 9-5 job” point of view. Yes, the opportunities to earn online are unlimited, it just takes a bit of new thinking and learning. When you have a regular working contract, your earnings are fixed and limited, but with an online business or as a digital entrepreneur, you have limitless opportunities to earn. You can work from anywhere and whenever it suits you! And that’s exactly what I needed for me and my family. Now I can work while my kids are swimming their squad sessions (which is about 5-7 times a week!) or while we are away for a competition on the other side of the country for example.
All I need is my laptop and an internet connection.
Therefore – I say NO to the fact that I have to be responding to a boss or someone telling me when and how I have to work, the kind of job that robs me of the flexibility that I so much crave. I don’t want someone else telling me what I have to do. I say NO to situation where I have to ask someone if it is okay to spend time with my family. I say NO to miss out on my kids important moments in life. I just say NO! And I know the laptop lifestyle isn’t for everyone but it certainly is for us! And I not saying it is easy but it is certainly worth the learning curve!!
